Transportation to Shopping, medical appointments, Organized outings and Local Events
A wheelchair-compliant minivan transports residents to scheduled dialysis, operations, and medical appointments. In addition, we have 9 passenger wheelchair-accessible van that takes residents grocery shopping every Friday and every other Tuesday. Transportation is also offered to field trips in Santa Barbara, including museums, nature walks, and special events. In the coming year, PTCH hopes to purchase a newer passenger van with better fuel efficiency and more seating.
Fresh Live Harvested Produce from The Terrace Foundation Urban Farm
We prepare balanced lunches each weekday which are available at no charge to the property’s residents. We utilize vegetables grown in the Urban Farm operated by the other nonprofit on property, The Terrace Foundation. In addition to the entrée of the day, it includes a self-serve soup and salad bar and freshly made fruit juices. The overall mood at Pilgrim Terrace has drastically improved since the lunch program began. In addition to prepared lunches, the Food Bank brings their brown bag program to Pilgrim Terrace twice a month where low-income seniors can pick up a free bag of groceries. Every Monday there is a Harvest Day for residents to share the weekly harvest from The Terrace Foundation’s Aeroponic and Organic Urban Farm.

Activities, Exercise, Dance, Yoga and Potlucks
In addition to the nutritional benefit, residents benefit from the short walk to the dining hall and the social interaction with other residents and guests. Exercise classes are provided onsite by the non-profit to increase circulation and energy, as well as strengthen bones and muscles, all of which help prevent falls. We encourage residents to interact with one another by hosting a birthday party each month to celebrate and distribute gifts, generously provided by the Unity Shoppe. There are also special holiday parties, music events, movies, games, and art sessions to encourage community and spark a positive outlook.
Pilgrim Terrace Homes empowers low-income seniors and disabled individuals to live independently in a supportive community that encourages and facilitates healthy nutrition, activity, and social interaction in cooperation with Reiner Communities.
Monthly Birthday Celebrations and Christmas w/ gifts
With our partnership with The Unity Shoppe of Santa Barbara, we are able to provide birthday gifts for every resident at Pilgrim Terrace. We distribute these gifts through our monthly birthday celebration we host that includes music, cake, and ice cream. Everyone is invited to attend.
Every year we have a formal Christmas/Holiday Dinner where every resident receives a Christmas gift with live music for a fine dining experience.
Outdoor Events w/ live entertainment
With our beautiful park and picnic tables, we have numerous events for our residents and their families. Some of the events are Easter Egg Hunts, Fourth of July BBQ, Outdoor Tai Chi, Croquette, Garden Tours, Garden Educational Classes, and Fiesta Dancers. Take a tour of our property.
